X-Living in Bahagia - Pastel Skies in our Living Room

A splash of colours, a touch of class.

These are our 4 favourite paintings from BKK. 700 Baht for all 4 - that is about SGD 8 dollars for each! If you're in Chatuchak market, go to this young painter's shop at Zone C Soi 3 Room 111.

After we are back, we did go to Picture That Gallery at IMM (I heard their prices for their paintings are reasonable and they are on sale) but how I wished the prices listed are in BAHT and not SGD!

199 Baht, about 8 dollars. 299 Baht, about 12 dollars. 599 Baht, about 21 dollars.... and on and on..

Anyway, the pastel skies at our staircase landing area.

Hi gigi & everyone,

I'm planning to purchase a unit here too. I'm very interested in getting those either long frontage type OR short front but long back yard facing no neighbours OR corner units. Can anyone here give me some tips on how to spot a good unit? Or is there any particular good blocks around which is a definite good hunting ground?

I've been staying in Tiong Bahru it was a charming neighbourhood. So when I first view Jalan Bahagia, it gives me the same nice neighbourhood feeling. But since I've never been in Jln Bahagia before, it seems rather inconvenient on first sight wonder if going to orchard, shenton and tanglin rd will be easy. Any one has any ideas? Is the wet market within walking distance?

Cheers, Maureen

Hi Maureen

Thank you for dropping by :) All the units here are unique in their own layout and size. There may even be different sizes for a front yard or back yard in the same curved block. For eg Blk 42 and 52 have very long front yards and some blocks at the perimeter of Jalan Ma'mor without back-to-back neighbours have very long backyards.

Every block has 2 corners and vary in sizes, can range from 155 to 266 sq m. See recent transactions here http://gigi.sg/bahagia-bulletin/past-transacted-prices-for-hdb-terrace-in-jln-bahagia-jln-mamor/.

So spotting a good unit is an individual preference :) Just pop by to take a look or make some appointment viewings with the agents.

Going to orchard is just a 10 minutes draw away by CTE and about 20 minutes away by a straight bus 124. Tanglin Road is also quite near if we drive down novena and newton instead of taking the CTE.

Whampoa wet market is within walking distance. It's very vibrant in the morning.

Good luck for your house hunting. You may also want to ask some of the other residents' opinion on our Facebook group. Feel free and cya around!
